Regular Season Round 25: Niigata Albirex - Shinshu BW 80-77

Seventh-ranked Shinshu BW (9-12) gave a tough game to sixth ranked Niigata Albirex (15-10) on Saturday. Niigata Albirex managed to secure only three-point victory 80-77. However their fans expected easier game. The hosts trailed by 4 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 4-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 80-77. Niigata Albirex shot the lights out from three sinking 12 long-distance shots on high 54.5 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. American forward Thomas Kennedy (201-87, college: Detroit Mercy) fired 15 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. His fellow American import center Patrick Sullivan (206-88, college: SE Louisiana, agency: Two Points) chipped in 11 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists. Niigata Albirex's coach Fujitaka Hiraoka used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. American-Somalian forward Mohamed Abukar (208-85, college: San Diego St., agency: Two Points) produced 27 points and 4 assists and American forward Carl Hall (203-89, college: Wichita St.) added 11 points and 12 rebounds respectively for lost side. Niigata Albirex have a solid series of three victories in a row. They moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Osaka Evessa. Shinshu BW at the other side keeps the seventh position with 12 games lost. Niigata Albirex will again meet at home Shinshu BW (#7) in the next round. Shinshu BW will have a break next round.
