The game between closely ranked teams ended with 10th ranked Poitiers' (6-8) home loss to ninth ranked Le Portel (8-6) 72-77 on Saturday. Poitiers was trailing by 2 points at halftime but managed to get 4-point lead after three quarters before a 23-14 charge of Le Portel, which allowed them to win the game. Le Portel outrebounded Poitiers 39-28 including 28 on the defensive glass. Poitiers was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. Four Poitiers players scored in double figures. Le Portel moved-up to eighth place, which they share with Evreux. Poitiers at the other side keeps the tenth position with eight games lost. Le Portel will face Charleville-Mezieres (#15) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Poitiers will play against Saint-Quentin (#11) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
