Regular Season Round 21: Chiba Jets - Kumamoto V. 65-73

There was a minor upset when 4th placed Chiba Jets (13-11) were defeated at home by sixth ranked Kumamoto V. (3-17) 73-65. The guests were tied after three quarters but managed to speed up in last quarter eventually winning the game. It was a good game for American swingman Garlon Green (201-91, college: TCU) who led his team to a victory with 16 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. Point guard Kento Matsuzaki (178-88) contributed with 17 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Four Kumamoto V. players scored in double figures. American forward Justin Burrell (207-88, college: St.John's) answered with a double-double by scoring 22 points and 16 rebounds and the other American import power forward Rick Rickert (211-83, college: Minnesota) added 9 points and 11 rebounds in the effort for Chiba Jets. Kumamoto V. maintains sixth place with 3-17 record. Chiba Jets at the other side dropped to the fifth position with 11 games lost. Kumamoto V. will have a break next round. Chiba Jets will play again at home against Kumamoto V. (#6) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
