Very important is a road loss of second ranked Real Madrid (10-3) against fourth ranked Regal FC Barcelona (10-3) on Sunday night. Visiting Real Madrid was defeated by Regal FC Barcelona in a tough game in Barcelona 68-76. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Real Madrid won third quarter 15-11. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Real Madrid 42-26 including a 34-17 advantage in defensive rebounds. Croatian center Ante Tomic (217-87, agency: XL Basketball Agency) stepped up and scored 12 points and 8 rebounds for the winners and American forward Justin Doellman (205-85, college: Xavier, agency: Beo Basket) chipped in 12 points and 7 rebounds. At the losing side Lithuanian swingman Jonas Maciulis (198-85) responded with 14 points and international Rudy Fernandez (197-85) scored 8 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. Real Madrid's coach Pablo Laso rotated twelve players in this game, but that didn't help. Defending champion moved-up to second place, which they share with Real Madrid and FIATC Joventut. Regal FC Barcelona will play against Blusens Monbus (#12) in Santoago de Comp in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Real Madrid will play at home against the league's leader Unicaja Malaga (#1) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
