Regular Season Round 22: Tochigi Brex - Toyota Alvark 83-75

An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Tochigi. Second ranked Tochigi Brex faced 4th ranked Toyota Alvark. Host Tochigi Brex (17-7) defeated guests from Tokyo (13-9) 83-75. Toyota Alvark was ahead by 3 points at the halftime before a 54-43 second half run of Tochigi Brex. The game was dominated by American players. Worth to mention a great performance of power forward Ryan Rossiter (204-89, college: Siena) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 21 points and 18 rebounds. Center Kyle Barone (208-89, college: Idaho) contributed with 16 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. Five Tochigi Brex players scored in double figures. Power forward Xavier Gibson (210-88, college: Florida St., agency: Comsport) replied with 17 points and 7 rebounds and forward Jeff Gibbs (188-80, college: Otterbein) added 11 points and 11 rebounds in the effort for Toyota Alvark. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Tochigi Brex maintains second position with 17-7 record having just -1 point less than leader Hitachi SR. Toyota Alvark at the other side dropped to the fifth place with nine games lost. Tochigi Brex will play against league's leader Hitachi Sunrockers in Tokyo in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Toyota Alvark will play at home against Hokkaido L. (#6) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
