There was a surprise result when ninth ranked Fukushima (8-18) defeated on the road higher ranked Shiga L-Stars (13-7) 86-72 on Sunday. The guests trailed by 8 points after first quarter, but they stormed back winning two of next three quarters and won the game by 14 points. Fukushima forced 23 Shiga L-Stars turnovers. The game was also dominated by American players. The best player for the winners was forward Terrance Shannon (203-90, college: VCU) who had a double-double by scoring 18 points and 12 rebounds. Guard Verdell Jones III (195-89, college: Indiana) chipped in 19 points, 6 assists and 5 steals. Forward Jeffrey Parmer (203-85, college: Florida Atlantic) produced 13 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists and guard Terrance Woodbury (201-87, college: Georgia, agency: Haylett Sports) added 14 points and 4 steals respectively for the hosts. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Shiga L-Stars' coach tested eleven players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Fukushima moved-up to eighth place, which they share with Shimane SM. Loser Shiga L-Stars keep the fifth position with seven games lost. Fukushima will have a break next round. Shiga L-Stars will play at home against Fukuoka Rizing (#10) and hope to win that game.
