No shocking result in a game in Jinjiang where seventeenth ranked Fujian (6-19) defeated 19th ranked Bayi Rockets (3-22) 104-96 on Sunday. Bayi Rockets trailed by 18 points after 3 quarters before a 26-16 run in the last quarter cut the deficit to 96-104 at the end of the game. International Zhelin Wang (215-94) stepped up and scored 23 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners and American point guard John Lucas III (180-82, college: Oklahoma St.) chipped in 14 points and 5 assists. At the losing side the former international guard Shuo Han (196-86) responded with 23 points and 8 rebounds and the former international center ZhongHao Xu (212-90) scored 13 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Bayi Rockets' coach tested eleven players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Fujian moved-up to sixteenth place, which they share with Jiangsu TX. Bayi Rockets lost eleventh consecutive game. They keep the nineteenth position with 22 games lost. They share it with Chongqing FD. Fujian will meet at home higher ranked Zhejiang Chouzhou Bank (#15) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
