Regular Season Round 15: Oviedo - Palma 62-72
Date: December 28, 2014
Rather predictable result when seventh ranked Palma (8-6) won against on the road 11th ranked Oviedo CB (5-9) 72-62. It looked good early as Oviedo CB took an 3-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Palma had a 19-13 second period charge getting the lead and Oviedo CB was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 62-72. The best player for the winners was American Shawn Glover (201-90, college: ORU, agency: Comsport) who scored 16 points and 8 rebounds. His fellow American import point guard John DiBartolomeo (183-91, college: Rochester, agency: Duran International) chipped in 13 points and 4 steals. DiBartolomeo is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Four Palma players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was naturalized Dominican power forward Juan Garcia (201-89, agency: Duran International) who recorded 13 points and 8 rebounds and American center Kyle Tresnak (208-92, college: Weber St.) added 10 points and 6 rebounds respectively. Oviedo CB's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Palma moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Burgos. Oviedo CB lost third consecutive game. Oviedo CB at the other side keeps the eleventh position with nine games lost. Palma's next round opponent will be league's second-placed Planasa NV in Pamplona and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Oviedo CB will play at home against CB Prat (#15) and hope to win that game.
