Regular Season Round 14: Mantovana - Agrigento 82-77

Everything could happen in Mirandola at the game between two tied teams. Both tenth ranked Mantovana and 11th ranked Agrigento had identical 6-7 record. This time Mantovana used a home court advantage and defeated the opponent from Agrigento 82-77. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 23-16. But Agrigento won second period 18-13. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Mantovana made 19-of-21 charity shots (90.5 percent) during the game. The best player for the winners was American power forward Johndre Jefferson (207-88, college: S.Carolina, agency: Three Eye Sports) who had a double-double by scoring 16 points and 11 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field). International Riccardo Moraschini (191-91) chipped in 15 points, 5 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals (was perfect 9-for-9 from the free throw line !!!). American guard Pendarvis Williams (198-91, college: Norfolk St.) produced 24 points and his fellow American import power forward Dave Dudzinski (206-92, college: Holy Cross, agency: Pro Partner Sports Management) added 15 points and 6 rebounds respectively for the guests. Five Mantovana and four Agrigento players scored in double figures. Mantovana (7-7) moved-up to seventh place, which they share with Lighthouse TR and Angelico BI. Agrigento lost third consecutive game. Agrigento at the other side, also newcomer in the league, dropped to the tenth position with eight games lost. Mantovana's next round opponent will be Givova Napoli (#12) on the road where they are favorite. Agrigento will play against Fileni BPA Jesi and hope to win that game.
