The most surprising game was the first loss of Sagesse (6-1) in Tripoli on Sunday night. Visitors were defeated by eighth ranked Al Moutahed (1-4) 88-77. It ended at the same time the six-game winning streak of Sagesse. The hosts trailed by 3 points at the halftime before their 45-31 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. They outrebounded Sagesse 47-33 including 32 on the defensive glass. Al Moutahed looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. American-Guinea-Bissau point guard Perry Petty (185-88, college: UTPA) stepped up with a triple-double by scoring 25 points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists for the winners and American power forward Jameel Watkins (211-77, college: Georgetown) chipped in 19 points and 15 rebounds (on 9-of-10 shooting from the field). Petty is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Al Moutahed's coach Alen Abaz used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American forward Desmond Penigar (201-81, college: Utah St.) responded with 24 points and 6 rebounds and the other American import guard Terrell Stoglin (185-91, college: Maryland) scored 18 points. Al Moutahed left bottom position moving up to seventh place. Sagesse at the other side still keeps top position with one game lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
