There was a minor upset in Jiyuan where top-ranked Liaoning Hengye (12-10) was defeated by third ranked Henan (7-15) 72-62 on Sunday. It may be a crucial game in the contest for the top position in Places 9-12. Liaoning Hengye was trailing by 2 points at halftime but managed to get 1-point lead after three quarters before a 21-10 charge of Henan, which allowed them to win the game. They made 17-of-21 free shots (81.0 percent) during the game. The best player for the winners was swingman Jie Sun (183-91) who scored 18 points and 5 rebounds. The former international forward Xiaoli Chen (193-82) chipped in 20 points and 5 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field).
