Polpharma (#11) forced the game against Trefl (#7) into an overtime, but lost by four points 115-119 on Monday night. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Polpharma won fourth quarter 33-27. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening, at least not yet. The game turned upside-down in the last quarter, where Polpharma used huge pressure winning it 33-27 getting a tie at the end of regular time. They lost eventually overtime period 10-14. Trefl made 34-of-41 free shots (82.9 percent) during the game. They shot the lights out from three sinking 17 long-distance shots on high 54.8 percentage. Trefl looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. Lithuanian point guard Sarunas Vasiliauskas (187-89, agency: Alti Sport) nailed 28 points and 4 assists (perfect behind the arc making all seven shots !!!) for the winning side and Lithuanian center Tautvydas Lydeka (208-83) accounted for 17 points, 11 rebounds and 5 assists. American guard Jessie Sapp (188-86, college: Georgetown) came up with 17 points, 9 rebounds, 8 assists and 4 steals and the other American import point guard Anthony Miles (185-89, college: Lamar) added 29 points respectively for Polpharma in the defeat. Four Trefl and five Polpharma players scored in double figures. Polpharma's coach Tomasz Jankowski rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Trefl (7-6) moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Energa Czarni and Asseco. Loser Polpharma keeps the eleventh position with nine games lost. Trefl will meet league's leader PGE Turow in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Polpharma will play against Stelmet (#4) and hope to secure a win.
