Very predictable result in Tehran where second ranked Mahram (10-2) defeated 7th ranked PMINA Esfahan (3-8) 82-66 on Monday. The hosts trailed by 2 points after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 6-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 82-66. The former international Arman Zangeneh (202-93) stepped up and scored 15 points and 8 rebounds for the winners and the former international point guard Farid Aslani (183-88) chipped in 17 points. Four Mahram players scored in double figures. At the losing side the former international swingman Iman Zandi (188-81) responded with 24 points and 5 rebounds and the former international Ali Baheran (188-86) scored 5 points. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Mahram maintains second place with 10-2 record behind leader Azad. PMINA Esfahan lost fourth consecutive game. Newly promoted team keeps the seventh position with eight games lost. Mahram will face Petrochimi (#3) in Bandar Imam in the next round, which may be the game of the day. PMINA Esfahan will play on the road against Qazvin (#5) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
