Regular Season Round 11: Hapoel K/S - Elitzur Ramla 87-65

Rather expected game when 14th ranked Elitzur Ramla (1-10) was crushed on the road by twelfth ranked Hapoel Kfar Saba (3-8) 87-65 on Tuesday. The game was mostly controlled by Hapoel Kfar Saba. Elitzur Ramla was better in fourth quarter 27-17. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Hapoel Kfar Saba dominated down low during the game scoring 62 of its points in the paint compared to Elitzur Ramla's 40. Hapoel Kfar Saba forced 27 Elitzur Ramla turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists. Americans were the main players on the court also this time. It was a great evening for guard Vernon Teel (193-87, college: Loyola Mary) who led his team to a victory with a triple-double by scoring 17 points, 10 rebounds and 11 assists. Center DeAngelo Riley (206-88, college: Azusa Pacific) helped adding 12 points and 9 rebounds. Five Hapoel Kfar Saba players scored in double figures. Guard Ronald Davis (190-82, college: Wisc.-Milwaukee) responded with 15 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists (was perfect 9-for-9 from the free throw line !!!) and forward Billy White (203-89, college: San Diego St.) scored 17 points and 5 rebounds (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field). Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Hapoel Kfar Saba moved-up to eleventh place, which they share with Ramat Hasharon and Maccabi H/H. Elitzur Ramla lost sixth consecutive game. They stay at the bottom position with ten games lost. Hapoel Kfar Saba will face higher ranked Ironi Ashkelon (#8) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Elitzur Ramla will play against Hapoel Afula (#3) and will have a slim chance for a victory.
