We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams when 15th ranked Zhejiang Chouzhou Bank (7-19) lost to sixteenth ranked Fujian (7-19) in Jinjiang 109-125 on Wednesday. The hosts trailed by 8 points after first quarter, but they stormed back and won the game by 16 points. Fujian looked well-organized offensively handing out 31 assists comparing to just 15 passes made by Zhejiang Chouzhou Bank's players. American point guard John Lucas III (180-82, college: Oklahoma St.) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 25 points, 6 rebounds and 13 assists. International forward QiXin Zhou (195-85) contributed with 18 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) for the winners. American forward Charles Gaines (201-81, college: S.Mississippi) replied with a double-double by scoring 34 points (!!!) and 19 rebounds and his fellow American import point guard Errick McCollum (185-88, college: Goshen) added 36 points (!!!), 10 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals in the effort for Zhejiang Chouzhou Bank. Five Fujian and four Zhejiang Chouzhou Bank players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Fujian moved-up to fifteenth place, which they share with Zhejiang CB. Fujian will face higher ranked Zhejiang Guangsha Lions (#6) in Hangzhou in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game.
