Regular Season Round 27: Shanghai S. - TianJin S. 109-110 OT

Thirteenth ranked TianJin Steel won an overtime thriller edging 12th ranked Shanghai Sharks by one point 110-109. The game took place in Shanghai. But the guests from Tianjin were better at the end. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Shanghai Sharks won fourth quarter 30-22. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening, at least not yet. The game turned upside-down in the last quarter, where Shanghai Sharks used huge pressure winning it 30-22 getting a tie at the end of regular time. They lost eventually overtime period 12-13. 26 personal fouls committed by Shanghai Sharks helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. It was a good game for American forward Shelden Williams (206-83, college: Duke) who saved his team from a defeat with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 18 rebounds. His fellow American import point guard Dwight Buycks (191-89, college: Marquette) contributed with 26 points for the winners. Four TianJin Steel players scored in double figures. American forward Michael Beasley (208-89, college: Kansas St.) answered with a double-double by scoring 55 points (!!!) and 16 rebounds and forward ChengLin Fan (202-91) added 22 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Shanghai Sharks. TianJin Steel maintains thirteenth place with 10-17 record. Shanghai Sharks lost their third game in a row. They keep the twelfth position with 15 games lost. TianJin Steel's next round opponent will be Jiangsu TX (#17) on the road.
