Regular Season Round 27: Bayi R. - Sichuan BW 85-84

We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams in Ningbo where 18th ranked Sichuan BW (5-22) was edged by nineteenth ranked Bayi Rockets (5-22) 85-84 on Friday. The hosts were tied at the half but managed to speed up in last two quarters eventually winning the game. Bayi Rockets forced 25 Sichuan BW turnovers. It was a great evening for forward Junlin Wang (200-93) who led his team to a victory scoring 20 points and 4 assists. The former international forward Lei Wang (203-86) helped adding 16 points and 5 assists. Bayi Rockets' coach Chang Bin Adijan used an eleven-player rotation in such tough game. The best for the losing side was American forward Daniel Orton (208-90, college: Kentucky) with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 14 rebounds (went 7 for 7 at the free throw line) and Nigerian-American guard Michael Efevberha (193-84, college: CS Northridge) scored 23 points. Bayi Rockets moved-up to eighteenth place, which they share with defeated Sichuan BW. Sichuan BW lost their fifth game in a row. Bayi Rockets will face bottom-ranked Chongqing FD (#20) in Guangzhou in the next round.
