Regular Season Round 27: Xinjiang FT - Jiangsu D. 124-97

Everything went according to plan in Urumqi where seventh ranked Xinjiang Flying Tige (19-8) outscored 14th ranked Jiangsu Dragons (9-18) 124-97 on Friday. The game was mostly controlled by Xinjiang Flying Tige. Jiangsu Dragons was better in third quarter 29-25. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Xinjiang Flying Tige shot 60.2 percent from the field. Xinjiang Flying Tige outrebounded Jiangsu Dragons 48-28 including a 34-18 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a great evening for American-Filipino power forward Andray Blatche (211-86) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 41 points (!!!), 16 rebounds and 7 assists. Forward Makhan Korambek (196-90) helped adding 25 points (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field). Xinjiang Flying Tige's coach Mihalis Kiritsis felt very confident that he used entire bench and allowed the starting five to rest. The best for the losing side was American power forward Arnett Moultrie (208-90, college: Mississippi St., agency: David Lee services) with 30 points and the other American import point guard Toney Douglas (188-86, college: Florida St.) scored 21 points and 4 assists. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. The victory was the third consecutive win for Xinjiang Flying Tige. They moved-up to fourth place, which they share with 3 other teams. Loser Jiangsu Dragons keep the fourteenth position with 18 games lost. Xinjiang Flying Tige will face DongGuan Leopards (#8) on the road in the next round. Jiangsu Dragons will play against the league's leader Liaoning Hunters (#1) and hope to win that game.
