Regular Season Round 16: Sudety - Kalisz 79-68

There was an upset when higher ranked Kalisz (8-7) lost to ninth ranked Sudety (5-10) in Jelenia Gora 68-79 on Saturday. Sudety dominated down low during the game scoring 50 of its points in the paint compared to Kalisz's 22. They outrebounded Kalisz 48-26 including a 36-17 advantage in defensive rebounds. Quite impressive performance for guard Lukasz Niesobski (185-85) who helped to win the game recording 31 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists. Power forward Jaroslaw Wilusz (200-85) contributed with a double-double by scoring 18 points, 17 rebounds and 5 assists (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) for the winners. Four Sudety players scored in double figures. Power forward Przemyslaw Galewski (199-91) replied with 20 points and 6 rebounds and power forward Pawel Murza (202-90) added 13 points in the effort for Kalisz. Sudety maintains ninth position in Group D with 5-10 record. Kalisz lost fourth consecutive game. They dropped to the fifth place with seven games lost. Sudety will face Slask 2 Wroclaw (#10) on the road in the next round. Kalisz will play against Rawia (#7) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
