Very predictable result when sixth ranked Valencia Basket (9-6) beat at home 12th ranked CB Canarias (6-9) 98-80 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Valencia Basket. CB Canarias was better in second period 20-18. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The best player for the winners was Montenegrin Bojan Dubljevic (205-91, agency: Beo Basket) who had a double-double by scoring 11 points and 11 rebounds. Point guard Pau Ribas (196-87) chipped in 16 points and 4 assists. At the other side the best for losing team was the former international swingman Saul Blanco (196-85) who recorded 18 points and 4 assists and Greek power forward Michalis Tsairelis (206-88) added 13 points and 6 rebounds respectively. Five Valencia Basket and four CB Canarias players scored in double figures. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Valencia Basket maintains sixth place with 9-6 record, which they share with CAI Zaragoza. CB Canarias lost third consecutive game. They keep the twelfth position with nine games lost. Valencia Basket will face league's second-placed Bilbao Basket on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. CB Canarias will play against Baloncesto Fuenlabrada (#17) in Madrid and hope to win that game.
