Seventh-ranked Hapoel Eilat (6-8) made lots of trouble for first ranked Maccabi T-A (12-2) in Tel-Aviv on Saturday. Maccabi T-A managed to secure only two-point victory 85-83. However their fans expected much easier game. The hosts trailed by 14 points after three quarters before their 28-12 charge, which allowed them to win the game. Maccabi T-A made 22-of-26 free shots (84.6 percent) during the game. The best player for the winners was American-Georgian guard Marquez Haynes (191-86, college: Texas Arlington) who scored 27 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists. American point guard Jeremy Pargo (188-86, college: Gonzaga, agency: Priority Sports) chipped in 27 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists. International Elishay Kadir (202-87, agency: Avi Zilberman) produced a double-double by scoring 17 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists and the former international point guard Afik Nissim (185-81, agency: Avi Zilberman) added 17 points and 9 assists respectively for the guests. Four Hapoel Eilat players scored in double figures. Maccabi T-A have an impressive eight-game winning streak. Defending champion maintains first position with 12-2 record. Hapoel Eilat at the other side keeps the seventh place with eight games lost. They share the position with Maccabi Haifa. Maccabi T-A are looking forward to face Ironi Nahariya (#10) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Hapoel Eilat will play against Bnei Hasharon and is hoping to prove to their fans that this time they can win.
