BJ League top team - Hamamatsu Phoenix (23-3) had no problems winning another game on Saturday. This time they crushed sixth ranked Bambitious Nara (9-15) 92-66. The game without a history. Hamamatsu Phoenix led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Bambitious Nara's 34. Hamamatsu Phoenix forced 24 Bambitious Nara turnovers. It was a quality performance for American forward Mo Charlo (203-83, college: Nevada) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 25 points and 10 rebounds. Nigerian-Canadian Olu Ashaolu (200-88, college: Oregon) accounted for 19 points for the winning side. Hamamatsu Phoenix's coach Tomoya Higashino felt very confident that he used 10 players and allowed the starting five to rest. American forward Chehales Tapscott (195-90, college: Portland St.) came up with a double-double by scoring 12 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists and the other American import power forward Mike St.John (203-84, college: La Salle, agency: Global Sports Plaza) added 8 points and 11 rebounds respectively for Bambitious Nara in the defeat. Five Hamamatsu Phoenix and four Bambitious Nara players scored in double figures. The victory was the fourteenth consecutive win for Hamamatsu Phoenix. They maintain first place with 23-3 record. Loser Bambitious Nara keeps the sixth position with 15 games lost. They share it with Shinshu BW. Hamamatsu Phoenix will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Bambitious Nara will play against Shiga L-Stars (#4) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
