Regular Season Round 15: Piacentina - Treviglio 84-72

Bottom-ranked Piacentina managed to get a fifth victory, breaking the series of two consecutive loses. This time newly promoted Piacentina won against fourth-ranked Treviglio in Piacenza 84-72. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Treviglio. It looked good early as Treviglio took an 3-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Piacentina had a 25-16 second period charge getting the lead and Treviglio was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 72-84. Treviglio was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a great evening for Lithuanian swingman Paulius Sorokas (200-92) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 26 points and 19 rebounds. The former international guard Rodolfo Rombaldoni (193-77) helped adding 15 points. Four Piacentina players scored in double figures. Piacentina's coach allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. The best for the losing side was the former international center Emanuele Rossi (206-82) with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 11 rebounds and guard Tommaso Marino (192-86) scored 17 points. Piacentina (5-10) moved-up to thirteenth place, which they share with Latina Basket and Roseto. Treviglio at the other side keeps the fourth position with five games lost. Piacentina will play against bottom-ranked Matera (#16) on the road in the next round. Treviglio will play against Omegna (#7) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
