Regular Season Round 27: Soles - Jefes 103-76

Date: January 3, 2015
No shocking result in a game in Mexicali where fourth ranked Soles (18-9) smashed 6th ranked Jefes (14-12) 103-76 on Saturday. The hosts trailed by 6 points at the halftime before their 61-28 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. Soles made 21-of-26 free shots (80.8 percent) during the game. They also forced 19 Jefes turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. It was a great evening for Ghanian-British forward Matthew Bryan-Amaning (205-88, college: Washington) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 25 points, 12 rebounds and 5 assists. American guard Zach Graham (198-89, college: Mississippi) helped adding 25 points (went 8 for 8 at the free throw line). Four Soles players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was American forward Dan Jennings (206-90, college: Long Beach St.) with 26 points and 9 rebounds and the other American import forward Jordan Glynn (200-89, college: SF Austin) scored 18 points and 9 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Soles maintains fourth place with 18-9 record. Newly promoted Jefes dropped to the seventh position with 12 games lost. Soles will meet at home Fuerza Regia (#5) in the next round. Jefes will play against Gansos in Ciudad de Mexico and hope to secure a win.
