Regular Season Round 10: WIT Wildcats - DCU Mercy 46-65

The game in Waterford was also quite interesting. Fourth ranked DCU Mercy (5-2) played at the court of 6th ranked WIT Wildcats (3-6). DCU Mercy did not have too big problems and got a relatively easy victory 65-46 on Saturday. Strangely WIT Wildcats outrebounded DCU Mercy 53-41 including 39 on the defensive glass. American forward Caroline Stewart (182-90, college: Boston U.) fired a double-double by scoring 14 points and 19 rebounds for the winners. The former international guard Sarah Woods (174-88) chipped in 16 points. DCU Mercy's coach let to play all 12 players and allowed the starting five to rest. American forward Olivia Applewhite (183, college: Dayton) produced a double-double by scoring 15 points and 17 rebounds and the former international forward Stephanie O'Shea (185-91) added 10 points and 10 rebounds respectively for lost side. DCU Mercy moved-up to third place. WIT Wildcats lost third consecutive game. They keep the sixth position with six games lost. DCU Mercy will meet league's second-placed Liffey Celtics in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. WIT Wildcats will play against the league's leader TM Hotel Cork (#1) and hope to secure a win.
