Very expected game when 7th ranked Shenyang Golden Lions (8-13) were crushed on the road by first ranked Beijing Great Wall (16-5) 73-54 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Beijing Great Wall. Shenyang Golden Lions was better in third quarter 16-13. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Beijing Great Wall dominated on the defensive end, holding Shenyang Golden Lions to just 6 points in first quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 52 of its points in the paint compared to Shenyang Golden Lions' 32. They outrebounded Shenyang Golden Lions 39-26 including a 15-2 advantage in offensive rebounds. American center Brittney Griner (203-90, college: Baylor) had a double-double by scoring 21 points and 15 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and international forward Ting Shao (183-89) chipped in 9 points and 4 assists during the contest. International forward Meng Li (185-95) responded with 12 points and 6 rebounds and center Xuejiao Wu (189-89) scored 10 points and 5 rebounds. Beijing Great Wall maintains first position with 16-5 record. Shenyang Golden Lions at the other side dropped to the sixth place with 13 games lost. Beijing Great Wall will face Shanxi Rui Flame (#3) in Taiyuan in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Shenyang Golden Lions will play at home against Bayi Kylin and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
