Regular Season Round 28: Jiangsu TX - TianJin S. 117-107

We should mention about the upset which took place in Jiangsu, where higher ranked TianJin Steel (10-18) lost to seventeenth ranked Jiangsu TX (7-21) in a road game 107-117 on Sunday. The hosts were tied at the half but managed to speed up in last two quarters eventually winning the game. Jiangsu TX made 25-of-31 free shots (80.6 percent) during the game. They also forced 20 TianJin Steel turnovers. TianJin Steel was plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. American center Will McDonald (211-79, college: S.Florida) fired 36 points (!!!) and 6 rebounds (on 13-of-17 shooting from the field) for the winners. The other American import forward Brandon Costner (206-87, college: N.Carolina St.) chipped in a double-double by scoring 22 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists. American point guard Dwight Buycks (191-89, college: Marquette) produced 28 points, 6 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals and forward Nan Zhang (197-81) added 27 points respectively for lost side. Five Jiangsu TX and four TianJin Steel players scored in double figures. TianJin Steel's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Jiangsu TX moved-up to sixteenth place, which they share with Fujian QB. Loser TianJin Steel keeps the thirteenth position with 18 games lost. Jiangsu TX will face higher ranked Shanghai Sharks (#12) on the road in the next round and it may be quite challenging game.
