Regular Season Round 15: Gipuzkoa - UCAM Murcia 67-70

A very interesting game took place in San Sebastian. It ended with only three-point home defeat of 14th ranked Gipuzkoa (5-10) to ninth ranked UCAM Murcia (8-7) 70-67 on Sunday evening. Guest team only slightly avoided a big embarassment. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Gipuzkoa. Gipuzkoa was ahead by 6 points after three quarters before a 20-11 charge of UCAM Murcia, which allowed them to win the game. It was an exceptional evening for power forward Jose Angel Antelo (206-87) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 11 rebounds. The former international point guard Carlos Cabezas (186-80) accounted for 16 points and 4 assists for the winning side. UCAM Murcia's coach Diego Ocampo allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. Power forward Daniel Diez (202-93) came up with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 13 rebounds and American guard Taquan Dean (193-83, college: Louisville, agency: Two Points) added 14 points respectively for Gipuzkoa in the defeat. UCAM Murcia moved-up to eighth place, which they share with G.Canaria 2014. Gipuzkoa at the other side keeps the fourteenth position with ten games lost. UCAM Murcia's next round opponent will be higher ranked FIATC Joventut (#3) in Badalona and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Gipuzkoa will play on the road against Sevilla (#18) and hope to win that game.
