Rather expected game when 13th ranked Fileni BPA Jesi (5-10) was defeated on the road by tenth ranked Agrigento (7-8) 83-78 on Sunday. Fileni BPA Jesi was trailing by 10 points at halftime but managed to get 4-point lead after three quarters before a 28-19 charge of Agrigento, which allowed them to win the game. Agrigento shot 20 for 27 from the free-throw line, while Fileni BPA Jesi only scored four points from the stripe. Agrigento forced 19 Fileni BPA Jesi turnovers. Fileni BPA Jesi was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a great evening for American guard Pendarvis Williams (198-91, college: Norfolk St.) who led his team to a victory scoring 21 points and 5 rebounds. Guard Marco Evangelisti (199-84) helped adding 20 points. The best for the losing side was American guard Ian Miller (190-91, college: Florida St., agency: Two Points) with 29 points and the former international center Michele Maggioli (212-77) produced a double-double by scoring 17 points and 10 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Agrigento moved-up to eighth place, which they share with Lighthouse TR and Mantovana. Loser Fileni BPA Jesi keeps the thirteenth position with ten games lost. Agrigento will face Casalpusterlengo (#13) on the road in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Fileni BPA Jesi will play against the league's second-placed C.de Latte BRE where they are definitely not considered as a favorite in this game either.
