Regular Season Round 28: Qingdao E. - Jilin NE T. 134-118

Not a big story in a game when 9th ranked Jilin Tigers (17-11) were defeated on the road by third ranked Qingdao Eagles (20-7) 134-118 on Sunday. The hosts trailed by 1 point at the halftime before their 66-49 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. Qingdao Eagles dominated down low during the game scoring 92 of its points in the paint compared to Jilin Tigers' 72. They outrebounded Jilin Tigers 41-27 including 29 on the defensive glass. Qingdao Eagles looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. American Mike Harris (198-83, college: Rice) fired a triple-double by scoring 31 points, 12 rebounds and 10 assists for the winners. The other American import point guard Justin Dentmon (183-85, college: Washington, agency: Comsport) chipped in 31 points and 5 assists. Qingdao Eagles' coach Qiuping Liu used an eleven-player rotation and allowed the starting five to get some rest. American guard Dominique Jones (193-88, college: S.Florida) produced 40 points (!!!), 6 rebounds and 8 assists and Syrian guard Michel Madanly (194-81) added 26 points and 6 rebounds respectively for lost side. Five Qingdao Eagles and four Jilin Tigers players scored in double figures. Qingdao Eagles have an impressive five-game winning streak. They maintain third position with 20-7 record having nine points less than leader Liaoning H. Loser Jilin Tigers keep the ninth place with 11 games lost. Qingdao Eagles will face Shandong Bulls (#11) in Jinan in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Jilin Tigers will play at home against Fujian and hope to win that game.
