Regular Season Round 14: Zaglebie - Stal Ostrow 79-67

Very important is a road loss of second ranked Stal Ostrow (10-4) against eighth ranked Zaglebie (7-7) on Sunday night. Visiting Stal Ostrow was defeated by Zaglebie in Sosnowiec 79-67. The game was mostly controlled by Zaglebie. Stal Ostrow was better in fourth quarter 19-16. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Zaglebie dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Stal Ostrow's 32. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 22 assists. The former international Marcin Kosinski (186-85) had a double-double by scoring 16 points, 10 rebounds and 8 assists to lead the charge for the winners and guard Grzegorz Mordzak (182-77) chipped in 17 points and 8 assists during the contest. Four Zaglebie players scored in double figures. point guard Tomasz Ochonko (183-86) responded with 14 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists and swingman Adrian Mroczek-Truskowski (192-85) scored 16 points. Stal Ostrow's coach Mikolaj Czaja tested eleven players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Zaglebie have an impressive five-game winning streak. Newly promoted Zaglebie maintains eighth position with 7-7 record. Stal Ostrow at the other side keeps the second place with four games lost. They share the position with Sokol Lancut. Zaglebie will play against Pogon Prudnik (#12) on the road in the next round. Stal Ostrow will play against SKK Siedlce (#13) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
