Regular Season Round 15: Mahram - Naft Abadan 74-58

The game had a very big importance for second-ranked Mahram as it allowed them to take a leadership position. Mahram defeated 4th placed Naft Abadan in Tehran 74-58. The hosts trailed by 1 point after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 4-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 74-58. Mahram forced 21 Naft Abadan turnovers. It was a great evening for international swingman Saeid Davarpanah (190-87) who led his team to a victory scoring 28 points and 5 assists. The former international power forward Mehdi Esmaeili (208) helped adding 8 points and 10 rebounds. The best for the losing side was international center Asghar Kardoust (212-86) with 9 points and 13 rebounds and forward Bagher Ghamari (195) scored 15 points. Mahram have a solid series of four victories in a row. As mentioned above they are alone now at the top position. Naft Abadan lost third consecutive game. Newly promoted team keeps the fourth place with seven games lost. Naft Abadan will play next round against Shahrdari Gorgan trying to get back on the winning streak. Mahram will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game.
