Regular Season Round 23: Jamtland - Umea 74-89

Not a big story in a game when 11th ranked KFUM Jamtland (3-15) was defeated at home by ninth ranked Umea (6-12) 89-74. The game was mostly controlled by Umea. KFUM Jamtland was better in second period 25-19. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Umea dominated down low during the game scoring 66 of its points in the paint compared to KFUM Jamtland's 44. They outrebounded KFUM Jamtland 37-26 including 27 on the defensive glass. It was an exceptional evening for American power forward Germain Jordan (198-86, college: Dillard, agency: Court Side) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 15 rebounds. Egal Saleman (199-88) accounted for 23 points and 5 rebounds for the winning side. Center Mattias Markusson (213-96) came up with 7 points and 8 rebounds and American-British Oladapo Ayuba (198-86, college: UMKC) added 10 points and 5 rebounds respectively for KFUM Jamtland in the defeat. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Umea moved-up to eighth place, which they share with Nassjo. KFUM Jamtland at the other side stay at the bottom position with 15 games lost. They share it with Eco Orebro. Umea will play against higher ranked Uppsala Basket (#5) at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. KFUM Jamtland will have a break next round.
