Everything went according to plan in Sao Paulo where third ranked Minas (10-4) won against 9th ranked Palmeiras (6-8) 80-76 on Tuesday. The guests trailed by 5 points after three quarters before their 19-10 charge, which allowed them to win the game. Palmeiras was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. The best player for the winners was American guard Robby Collum (185-81, college: W.Michigan) who scored 28 points. Center Ralfi Ansaloni (211-87) chipped in 8 points and 9 rebounds. Guard Arlindo Neto (187-86) produced 21 points and the former international swingman Diego Pinheiro (195-80) added 14 points respectively for the hosts.
