Regular Season Round 29: Jilin NE T. - Fujian QB 124-118

There was no surprise when 16th ranked Fujian (7-22) lost to ninth ranked Jilin Tigers (18-11) in Changchun 118-124. However just six-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Fujian won third quarter 41-29. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Jilin Tigers made 24-of-28 charity shots (85.7 percent) during the game. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists. Fujian was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. American guard Dominique Jones (193-88, college: S.Florida) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 37 points (!!!), 15 rebounds and 7 assists for the winners and Syrian guard Michel Madanly (194-81) chipped in 27 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists. American point guard John Lucas III (180-82, college: Oklahoma St.) responded with 31 points and 6 assists and international Zhelin Wang (215-94) produced a double-double by scoring 20 points and 13 rebounds. Four Jilin Tigers and five Fujian players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Jilin Tigers maintains ninth place with 18-11 record. Fujian lost their third game in a row. They keep the sixteenth position with 22 games lost. They share it with Jiangsu TX. Jilin Tigers will play against Foshan (#10) at home in the next round. Fujian will play against Shandong Bulls (#11) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
