The game in Valmiera supposed to be also quite interesting. Ridzene (3-2) played at the court of Valmiera BSS (1-4). Ridzene smashed Valmiera BSS 100-74 on Wednesday. The game without a history. Ridzene led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 64 of its points in the paint compared to Valmiera BSS's 42. Ridzene forced 25 Valmiera BSS turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 36 assists comparing to just 12 passes made by Valmiera BSS's players. Valmiera BSS was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a very good performance for guard Roberts Paze (193-95) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 12 points, 5 rebounds, 25 assists and 6 steals. Center Guntis Sipolins (206-93) contributed with a double-double by scoring 18 points, 15 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Five Ridzene players scored in double figures. Guard Ervins Ivanovs (185-96) answered with 20 points and center Maris Riekstins (208-95) added 9 points and 12 rebounds in the effort for Valmiera BSS. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest.
