Regular Season Round 29: Guangsha L. - Sichuan BW 118-99

No shocking result in a game when fifth ranked Zhejiang Guangsha Lions (21-8) crushed 19th ranked Sichuan BW (5-24) in Hangzhou 118-99. After very bad start, Sichuan BW stormed back in the second period cutting the deficit to 3 points 55-52. But it was not enough and Zhejiang Guangsha Lions took back the control in second half. Zhejiang Guangsha Lions outrebounded Sichuan BW 55-38 including 16 on the offensive glass. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 23 assists. American power forward Elijah Holman (208-89, college: Detroit Mercy) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 32 points and 20 rebounds (on 13-of-17 shooting from the field) for the winners and his fellow American import guard Kevin Murphy (196-90, college: Tenn Tech, agency: Priority Sports) chipped in 18 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists. Nigerian-American guard Michael Efevberha (193-84, college: CS Northridge) responded with 39 points (!!!), 8 rebounds and 4 assists (was perfect 12-for-12 from the free throw line !!!) and center Tao Xu (211-93, college: USF) produced a double-double by scoring 10 points and 10 rebounds. Five Sichuan BW players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The victory was the third consecutive win for Zhejiang Guangsha Lions. They moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Beijing Ducks. Sichuan BW lost their seventh game in a row. They keep the nineteenth position with 24 games lost. Zhejiang Guangsha Lions will play against bottom-ranked Chongqing FD (#20) in Guangzhou in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Sichuan BW will play at home against Beijing Ducks and hopes to get back on the winning track.
