Regular Season Round 29: Soles - Huracanes 83-72

Rather expected game in Mexicali where 6th ranked Huracanes (14-13) were defeated by fourth ranked Soles (20-9) 83-72. The game was mostly controlled by Soles. Huracanes was better in third quarter 21-20. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Soles players were unselfish on offense dishing 22 assists. American guard Zach Graham (198-89, college: Mississippi) orchestrated the victory by scoring 24 points, 7 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals (was perfect 8-for-8 from the free throw line). Ghanian-British forward Matthew Bryan-Amaning (205-88, college: Washington) contributed with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 14 rebounds for the winners. Four Soles players scored in double figures. Soles' coach Ivan Deniz used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Nigerian-American power forward Suleiman Braimoh (203-89, college: Rice) answered with 25 points and 9 rebounds and American swingman Ollie Bailey (201-85, college: Oklahoma City) added 23 points and 10 rebounds in the effort for Huracanes. Soles have a solid series of three victories in a row. They moved-up to third place. Huracanes lost sixth consecutive game. They keep the sixth position with 13 games lost. Soles' next round opponent will be Correcaminos (#12) in Ciudad Victoria and are hoping to win another game. Huracanes will play on the road against Gansos (#13) in Ciudad de Mexico and hope to win that game.
