Regular Season Round 11: FSU - Breidablik 82-93

Very important is a home loss of second ranked FSU (8-2) against sixth ranked Breidablik (4-5) on Thursday night. Host FSU was defeated by Breidablik in Selfoss 93-82. It ended at the same time the seven-game winning streak of FSU. The guests were tied after three quarters but managed to speed up in last quarter eventually winning the game. Breidablik made 28-of-36 charity shots (77.8 percent) during the game. Breidablik outrebounded FSU 45-31 including 31 on the defensive glass. It was a great shooting night for Breidablik especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 52.9 percentage. FSU was plagued by 27 personal fouls down the stretch. It was an exceptional evening for American point guard Nate Garth (188-89, college: UCSB) who led the winners and scored 19 points and 9 rebounds. Forward Egill Vignisson (198-91) accounted for 20 points and 8 rebounds for the winning side. American forward Collin Pryor (198, college: Northern St.) came up with a double-double by scoring 23 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists and point guard Hlynur Hreinsson (174-92) added 15 points and 10 assists respectively for FSU in the defeat. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Breidablik moved-up to fifth place. FSU at the other side keeps the second position with two games lost. Breidablik will play against KFI (#7) in Isafjordur in the next round. FSU will play on the road against the league's leader Hottur (#1) in Egilsstadir and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
