Second Stage Round 1: Tsmoki II - BGU Minsk 98-50

Another exciting game was a derby match between two teams from Minsk: Tsmoki II (#3) and BGU Minsk (#6). Tsmoki II (10-1) crushed visiting BGU Minsk (4-7) by 48 points 98-50. The game without a history. Tsmoki II led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to BGU Minsk's 20. Tsmoki II forced 26 BGU Minsk turnovers and outrebounded them 44-29 including a 37-24 advantage in defensive rebounds. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 34 assists comparing to just 9 passes made by BGU Minsk's players. Worth to mention a great performance of forward Yauheni Beliankou (197-95) who helped to win the game recording 25 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. Guard Roman Rubinshteyn (195-96) contributed with 12 points, 6 rebounds, 6 assists and 4 steals for the winners. Five Tsmoki II players scored in double figures. Forward Ruslan Goreglian (196-90) answered with 14 points and 5 rebounds and Cuban forward Darol Hernandez (206-89) added 13 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for BGU Minsk. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Tsmoki II will play against Borisfen (#5) in Mogilev in the next round. BGU Minsk will play at home against GOCOR-Sozh and hopes to get back on the winning track.
