Regular Season Round 29: La Union - Union SF 79-86

Everything went according to plan in Colon where first ranked Union SF (11-6) won against 3rd placed La Union (7-12) 86-79 on Saturday. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But La Union won third quarter 20-17. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded La Union 40-25 including 31 on the defensive glass. La Union was plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. The best player for the winners was point guard Pedro Franco (187-81) who scored 22 points and 7 rebounds. Center Alejandro Reinick (203-78) chipped in 18 points and 8 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). Four Union SF players scored in double figures. Forward Mariano Mazzini (193-81) produced 21 points and Pablo Osores (194-86) added 14 points and 6 rebounds respectively for the hosts. Union SF maintains first place with 11-6 record. La Union lost third consecutive game. They keep the third position with 12 games lost. Union SF will face Sarmiento F. (#4) in Formosa in the next round.
