Regular Season Round 13: GKK Sibenik - KK Split 95-86

No shocking result in a game when third ranked GKK Sibenik (8-4) defeated at home 9th ranked KK Split (4-8) 95-86. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 26-20. But KK Split won second period 23-21. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. GKK Sibenik players were unselfish on offense dishing 24 assists. KK Split was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a very good performance for guard Teo Petani (190-88, agency: XL Basketball Agency) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 16 points, 10 assists and 4 steals. The former international center Ljubo Samadan (207-83, agency: XL Basketball Agency) contributed with 18 points for the winners. Four GKK Sibenik players scored in double figures. Guard Josip Glavinic (192-82) answered with 30 points and 5 assists and guard Jakov Mustapic (193-94) added 19 points and 4 assists in the effort for KK Split. GKK Sibenik moved-up to second place, which they share with KK Zagreb and Alkar Sinj. KK Split at the other side dropped to the tenth position with eight games lost. GKK Sibenik will play against Vrijednosnice OS (#8) in Osijek in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. KK Split will play at home against KK Zagreb and hopes to get back on the winning track.
