Regular Season Round 16: La Rochelle - CFBB 88-67

Bottom-ranked CFBB (0-15) tried to put together a comeback for its first victory of the season, but they fell short in the 88-67 loss to eighth ranked La Rochelle (8-6) in La Rochelle on Saturday evening. The game without a history. La Rochelle led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. La Rochelle forced 23 CFBB turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 30 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of American forward Jay Couisnard (198-88, college: UMKC) who helped to win the game recording 19 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists and the other American import forward Jarryd Cole (205-88, college: Iowa) who added 18 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists during the contest. At the losing side swingman Bathiste Tchouaffe (194-98) responded with 14 points and 6 rebounds and Jules Rambaut (199-98) scored 15 points. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. CFBB's coach Jean-Aime Toupane gave up on the game allowing to play ten players seeing no chance for a win. La Rochelle moved-up to seventh place, which they share with St Vallier. Loser CFBB still closes the standings with 15 games lost. La Rochelle will meet Mulhouse Basket (#14) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. CFBB will have a break next round.
