Regular Season Round 12: Sozh-GGU - Victoria 67-87

Bottom-ranked Victoria managed to get a second victory, breaking the eight-game losing streak. This time they outleveled sixth-ranked Sozh-GGU in Gomel 87-67. It's especially surprising that the victory came too easily and 20-point difference suggests that Victoria is in a good shape to leave the bottom place. The game without a history. Victoria led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. It was a good game for swingman Arina Masko (175-99) who led her team to a victory with 21 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists (on 10-of-12 shooting from the field). Forward Anastasiya Haryna (188-94) contributed with 24 points and 9 rebounds (went 10 for 10 at the free throw line !!!) for the winners. Four Victoria players scored in double figures. Forward Elena Gorelikova (178-92) replied with 31 points and 9 rebounds and Katsiaryna Nialepka (178-93) added 9 points and 13 rebounds in the effort for Sozh-GGU. Victoria (2-9) moved-up to seventh place, which they share with RGUOR. Sozh-GGU lost sixth consecutive game. They keep the sixth position with eight games lost. Victoria's next round opponent will be league's leader Gorizont in Minsk and they do not belong to the favorites in that game.
