The game in Athens was also quite interesting. 7th ranked Ippokratis (4-9) played at the court of eighth ranked Athinaikos (3-10). Athinaikos defeated Ippokratis 69-58 on Sunday. The game was mostly controlled by Athinaikos. Ippokratis managed to win second period 20-19. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The best player for the winners was the former international guard Anastasia Kostaki (172-78) who scored 24 points (on 10-of-11 shooting from the field). International guard Eleanna Christinaki (181-96, college: Dayton) chipped in 17 points. At the other side the best for losing team was American center Talia Caldwell (188-91, college: California) who recorded a double-double by scoring 22 points and 11 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) and center Iro Koufogianni (188-87) added 13 points and 7 rebounds respectively. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Athinaikos maintains eighth position with 3-10 record. Ippokratis lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the seventh place with nine games lost. Athinaikos' supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Athens to the arena Olympiakos.
