Regular Season Round 9: Sant Adria - CREF Hola 48-65

The most crucial game of the last round was the first loss of Sant Adria (8-1) in Sant Adria de Besos on Sunday night. Hosts were defeated by third ranked CREF Hola (7-1) 65-48. It ended at the same time the eight-game winning streak of Sant Adria. The game was mostly controlled by CREF Hola. Sant Adria managed to win third quarter 15-13. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. CREF Hola dominated down low during the game scoring 42 of its points in the paint compared to Sant Adria's 22. They outrebounded Sant Adria 35-20 including a 24-12 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a good game for Canadian forward Kendel Ross (185-88, college: Dayton) who led her team to a victory with 21 points and 9 rebounds. Latvian power forward Linda Rubene (189-91, college: Indiana) contributed with 12 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Four CREF Hola players scored in double figures. Center Olga Ruano (191-88, agency: Regeneracom Sports) answered with 14 points and Ainhoa Lopez (180-97) added 9 points in the effort for Sant Adria. Sant Adria's coach Jordi Vizcaino rotated eleven players seeing no chance for a win. CREF Hola have a solid series of four victories in a row. They maintain third place in Group B with 7-1 record having just three points less than leader Ensino. Newly promoted Sant Adria dropped to the second position with one game lost. They share it with Alcobendas. CREF Hola's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Madrid ASEFA Estudiantes.
