Regular Season Round 16: Roma SRB - San Pietro 53-59

Leader San Pietro recorded the thirteenth victory on Sunday night. This time they beat 8th ranked Roma SRB (3-11) 59-53. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 13-8. But Roma SRB won second period 16-12. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Croatian power forward Ivona Matic (188-86, agency: IPSA) fired 13 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. The former international forward Simona Ballardini (183-81) chipped in 15 points. San Pietro's coach Paolo Seletti used entire bench and allowed the starting five to rest. Giulia Ciavarella (181-97) produced 20 points and 4 steals and Latvian forward Dace Bicane (185-90, college: Cumberlands) added 6 points and 8 rebounds respectively for lost side. Newly promoted San Pietro maintains first position in A2 with 13-2 record. Roma SRB at the other side, also newcomer in the league, keeps the eighth place with 11 games lost. San Pietro will have a break next round. Roma SRB will play on the road against the league's second-placed Bologna (#2) and hope to win that game.
