Regular Season Round 31: Jiangsu D. - Shanghai S. 90-97

Everything went according to plan in Nanjing where twelfth ranked Shanghai Sharks (14-17) won against 14th ranked Jiangsu Dragons (10-21) 97-90 on Sunday. The guests trailed by 2 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 9-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 97-90. Shanghai Sharks dominated down low during the game scoring 74 of its points in the paint compared to Jiangsu Dragons' 44. They outrebounded Jiangsu Dragons 54-37 including a 20-8 advantage in offensive rebounds. It was a great evening for American forward Michael Beasley (208-89, college: Kansas St.) who led his team to a victory scoring 25 points, 8 rebounds and 8 assists. His fellow American import power forward Bernard James (208-85, college: Florida St.) helped adding 23 points and 14 rebounds. At the losing side American power forward Arnett Moultrie (208-90, college: Mississippi St., agency: David Lee services) responded with a double-double by scoring 30 points and 13 rebounds and the former international point guard XueFeng Hu (185-80) scored 19 points, 9 rebounds, 9 assists and 5 steals. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Shanghai Sharks moved-up to eleventh place, which they share with Shandong FB. Jiangsu Dragons at the other side keep the fourteenth position with 21 games lost. Shanghai Sharks will meet at home Fujian (#16) in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Jiangsu Dragons will play against DongGuan Leopards and hope to secure a win.
