Second Stage Round 1: Rubon - Dynamo Polotsk 77-82

There was a minor upset in Vitebsk where Rubon (7-5) was defeated by Dynamo Polotsk (2-9) 82-77 on Sunday. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Rubon won fourth quarter 22-18. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Dynamo Polotsk forced 19 Rubon turnovers. Forward Dimitri Sivalko (199-85) fired 31 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. Center Yauheni Skrypkau (207-89) chipped in a double-double by scoring 16 points, 18 rebounds, 4 assists and 6 steals. point guard Fedor Kryukov (181-88) produced 22 points and 5 assists and American guard Artem Tarasov (188, college: Bellevue CC) added 23 points and 8 steals respectively for lost side. Four Rubon players scored in double figures. Dynamo Polotsk will have a break next round. Rubon will play on the road against Grodno-93 (#1) and hope to win that game.
