Regular Season Round 7: Sagesse - Al Riyadi 97-74

Division A round 7 caused change at the leadership position. First defeat of league's leader Al Riyadi (6-1) against second ranked Sagesse (6-1) 97-74 was the most important game of the last round. It ended at the same time the six-game winning streak of Al Riyadi. It was a key game for the top position in the league. The game was mostly controlled by Sagesse. Al Riyadi managed to win third quarter 23-22. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Worth to mention a great performance of American guard Terrell Stoglin (185-91, college: Maryland) who helped to win the game recording 38 points (!!!) and 5 assists. His fellow American import forward Desmond Penigar (201-81, college: Utah St.) contributed with a double-double by scoring 21 points, 13 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. Four Sagesse players scored in double figures. The former international swingman Jean Abdel Nour (198-83) answered with a double-double by scoring 26 points and 11 rebounds and the former international swingman Ahmad Ibrahim (198-92, college: Rice) added 12 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists in the effort for Al Riyadi. Sagesse keeps a position of league leader, which they share with defeated Al Riyadi. Al Riyadi will play next round against strong Homenetm. B trying to make it back to the top of the standings. It will be a derby game for which supporters look forward to, where their team will travel locally in Beirut to the arena of Homenetm. B. Sagesse will try to continue on its current victory against sixth ranked Champville in Dik El Mehdi.
